Lemonade Stand Feature

Happy Fun Friday! I hope you've had a sensational week, and that your weekend will be, too. Summer will be gone in just a few short weeks, so you have to soak up the sun and summer fun while you can. A few weeks ago, a cute lemonade stand I created was featured on the Forever Your Prints blog; check it out here. If you plan on hosting an event over the next few weeks or just want to have some fun with the kiddies, consider incorporating a lemonade stand. It is sure to liven up your soiree, excite your taste buds, and of course be fun for the little ones. From lemon cookies to lemon rock candy to lemonade, this set-up is extra sweet!

Boutique Owner's Baby Shower + Feature

Hey there sensational folks! Our summer has been super busy with weddings, soirees, spending time with loved ones and working on some exciting things we have coming up (stay tuned). However, we plan to get back in the swing of sharing inspiration, tips, features and more on our blog every week. We hope you'll join us for the fun!

We recently had the pleasure of styling the cutest gender-neutral baby shower for our good friend, Ericka Symonette, who runs a contemporary women's online clothing shop, Pulchritude Boutique. This fashionable wife and mom of 2 elementary school aged girls didn't want a traditional baby shower, but instead a fun "Come Back Kid" themed soiree to celebrate Baby #3 with her girlfriends. Gray and white chevron with a pop of yellow was the perfect color combo to set the scene of the private event space within D.C.'s Ebenezers Coffeehouse. With the addition of flowers, lemons, candles, and of course baby decor galore this shower definitely exuded lots of warmth and sunshine to reflect the excitement for new life. Here's a peek at some of the eye candy:

Cute, right?! We so enjoyed working on this shower and with the amazing shower hostesses. As mentioned prior, Ericka owns a women's clothing boutique, and their blog has an awesome summer series called Bravitude where they are featuring women who are bravely walking in their purpose. Guess who was featured apart of this inspiring series last Tuesday?! Yours truly, and what an honor! Check out the full interview here, and Pulchritude's website for fashion finds and style tips.

Hope the rest of your Tuesday is terrific! Tell us what you think about gender-neutral showers in the discussion section of this post.

Cassidy In ONEderland

Three months ago, my sweet baby girl Cassidy turned ONE! She is such a joy and full of life, so throwing a ONEderful celebration in her honor was a must. Cassidy's 1 Year Session-WEB-0024

As an event planner, I believe first birthdays are so special and fun, and as a mother it was important to make sure my daughter's was just that. When thinking of Cassidy's interests and personality, Alice in Wonderland became the inspiration for the "Cassidy in ONEderland" party. The theme embodied the playful and cutesy atmosphere that truly represented my little princess. For decor, I went with a pink and blue color scheme, and incorporated tea pots and cups, mini tree topiaries with birds, stuffed animals, books, fresh flowers, girly accents and framed photos of the birthday girl. The finished look was totally Cassidy's own ONEderland!

To ensure the party was enjoyable for the kids as well as their parents, we had entertainment and activities to include: caricature artist, face painting, hat decorating at our Mad Hatter's Hat Shop, photo station, and toys galore. As an added treat, we had a visit from Alice herself along with the White Rabbit, who took the kids on a pretend journey to Wonderland with balloon twisting along the way! No Alice in Wonderland themed event is complete without TEA! The kids had lots of fun serving and pretending to drink tea with our assortment of children's tea pots and cups. To let the adults in on the tea party fun, we had a hot tea station with a variety of Disney's Alice in Wonderland tea flavors, as well as delicious iced tea mixed with lemonade. These were the perfect refreshments to go along with our tea sandwiches, Mad Hatter salad, ONEderland nuggets and fries and other munchies on the buffet.

The sweet ending after all the food and fun was the delicious birthday cake, cupcakes, cookies and goodie bags! My baby girl, family and friends had a ONEderful time in ONEderland, which made me one happy Mama!

A Surprise 60th Birthday

Happy Flashback Friday! At the beginning of this year, we had the pleasure of planning a surprise 60th birthday party. This sensational soiree was hosted  by the birthday girl's daughter, who came to us to help implement her vision for an intimate and chic dinner party. 60th Birthday Party-WEB-0001

The celebration took place in the South Beath private dining room at Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak and Stone Crab in Washington, DC, just steps away from the White House. Joe's delicious cuisine coupled with their ambiance made this the perfect venue for the occasion. We enhanced the atmosphere of the dining room by incorporating red, black and white in the decor elements. To further set the tone for this chic affair, each table was beautifully decorated with floral centerpieces, damask table linens, and menu cards at each place setting. Additionally, we designed a festive sweets table for guests to enjoy after dinner and tributes to the honoree.
