Cassidy In ONEderland

Three months ago, my sweet baby girl Cassidy turned ONE! She is such a joy and full of life, so throwing a ONEderful celebration in her honor was a must. Cassidy's 1 Year Session-WEB-0024

As an event planner, I believe first birthdays are so special and fun, and as a mother it was important to make sure my daughter's was just that. When thinking of Cassidy's interests and personality, Alice in Wonderland became the inspiration for the "Cassidy in ONEderland" party. The theme embodied the playful and cutesy atmosphere that truly represented my little princess. For decor, I went with a pink and blue color scheme, and incorporated tea pots and cups, mini tree topiaries with birds, stuffed animals, books, fresh flowers, girly accents and framed photos of the birthday girl. The finished look was totally Cassidy's own ONEderland!

To ensure the party was enjoyable for the kids as well as their parents, we had entertainment and activities to include: caricature artist, face painting, hat decorating at our Mad Hatter's Hat Shop, photo station, and toys galore. As an added treat, we had a visit from Alice herself along with the White Rabbit, who took the kids on a pretend journey to Wonderland with balloon twisting along the way! No Alice in Wonderland themed event is complete without TEA! The kids had lots of fun serving and pretending to drink tea with our assortment of children's tea pots and cups. To let the adults in on the tea party fun, we had a hot tea station with a variety of Disney's Alice in Wonderland tea flavors, as well as delicious iced tea mixed with lemonade. These were the perfect refreshments to go along with our tea sandwiches, Mad Hatter salad, ONEderland nuggets and fries and other munchies on the buffet.

The sweet ending after all the food and fun was the delicious birthday cake, cupcakes, cookies and goodie bags! My baby girl, family and friends had a ONEderful time in ONEderland, which made me one happy Mama!

Frozen Party Ideas

Happy Friday! Some parts of the East Coast got snow this week. I absolutely love the snow and so do children. The cold weather had me thinking of wintery party themes, and the popular Disney movie Frozen came to mind. Frozen has become such a hit with little girls that this party theme is popping up everywhere. During one of the recent snow days, I created a Frozen Pinterest board to share some pretty amazing party ideas, and you can check it out here.

We also came up with a few fun ideas to add some flair to your Frozen soiree:

1) Frozen Yogurt bar - how fun would it be for the kids to make their own frozen yogurt sundaes! To create this, simply get some frozen yogurt, sprinkles, chocolate syrup, whipped cream and anything else you can dream up to create a tasty treat.

2) CHILL Out and Warm Up - typically with this party theme, most people go for all things chilly, but perhaps adding a little warmth to this wintery celebration by incorporating a hot chocolate station would be a hit with your party guests.

3) Ice Skating Rink - if the birthday girl and party guests enjoy skating or would love to learn, this would be the perfect party venue for ages 5 and up.

We hope we've inspired you to have some fun this winter. If you're planning a Frozen themed party and would love some assistance in turning it into a sensational soiree, be sure to contact us at info@sensationalsoirees.com.
