Sweet Summer - Throwback Thursday Edition

It's "Throwback Thursday", and this month we're sharing inspiration and more to get you prepared for a sweet summer! Today, we are traveling back to last June and sharing some awesome candy tables we did for some awesome kids.

First up is a Pre-K graduation party, where we styled a candy and cupcake table for the special little graduate, Taylor.  We highlighted Taylor's cap and gown colors, which were blue and white, and threw in a pop of pink for a fun and girly touch. You can see the full recap of this cute graduation party here.

We also did another Pre-K graduation party last June, where we styled a candy table in the theme of the popular Dr. Seuss "Oh, The Places You'll Go". The book was the perfect inspiration for a preschool soiree. We incorporated lots of bright colors and oversized candy decor for a fun twist. Check out more photos and details from this colorful grad party here.

Our final throwback from last June is my son's 2nd birthday party. The theme was Thomas the Train, so we created a fun blue and red candy and dessert table with lots of custom train accents. You can see part 1 of our recap here and part 2 here. We were so thrilled and honored to have Cameron's party featured on the popular party website Hostess With The Mostess.

A Seuss-tastic Baby Shower

Last Saturday, we had a seuss-tastic time showering my best friend Tiffany and her family, as they await the arrival of baby boy Karson! As an elementary school teacher, she was all too thrilled to go with a Dr. Seuss theme for the shower. We enjoyed helping to bring Karson's Seussville to life and working with his family and friends. With lots of Cat in the Hat stripes and Dr. Seuss decor, along with fun games and a delicious menu, it was truly an all around great afternoon. The shower had a SWEET ending thanks to: Tiffany's Treaures, who provided red velvet cupcakes, chocolate dipped pretzels, chocolate covered oreos and vanilla cake parfaits; Something BARowed, who designed the candy table; and Valley Cupcakes, who provided the Dr. Seuss shower cake. karson1 karson2 karson3 karson4 karson5 karson6

Everyday Party Magazine Feature!

epmHappy Friday! Today, we are so happy to share some great news. Yesterday, Everyday Party Magazine celebrated their 1 year anniversary. In honor of this milestone, they featured some 1st birthday parties in their Spring 2014 issue, which was released yesterday, and Sensational Soirees was featured! As you may recall, earlier this month we shared highlights from a Dr. Seuss themed 1st birthday party we assisted with, and that particular party was highlighted in the magazine. Needless to say we are excited, and special thanks to the birthday boy, Jacob, and his parents for choosing Sensational Soirees to assist with the party. We invite you to view the Spring 2014 issue of Everyday Magazine online for free here. Our feature for the Dr. Seuss party is on pages 71-72. Additionally, if you'd like to purchase a digital and/or print copy of the magazine you may do so here.

Let us know what you think about the magazine and the Dr. Seuss party in the discussion section below.

Event Recaps: Starting Off 2014

We hope your 2014 is off to a great start. We're looking forward to planning and designing many sensational soirees this year, and last weekend we hit the ground running as our team was in the full swing of event planning. We had the pleasure of assisting with a Dr. Seuss themed 1st birthday party and a fun and casual 30th birthday party. This past weekend's events reminded me of why I started Sensational Soirees...it wasn't just out of personal desire and love for events, but also to be a valued resource to our clients by meeting their specific and varying planning and design needs. Both of our recent clients wanted to play a lead role in the planning of their events, and called on us to manage the day of execution and some design details. It was so rewarding to hear them say they could really enjoy their event because of our on-site event management, which propels us to continue making great service our aim in 2014. Take a peek at a few photos from both parties below:

Dr. Seuss "Oh, The Places You'll Go" Grad Party

We had the privilege of assisting with another Pre-Kindergarten graduation party this month. This time, the party was for my goddaughter, Kalyce, who has remained an honor student and received a whopping 12 awards at her graduation! What an awesome accomplishment! Needless to say, her parents were all too thrilled to throw her a celebration.

Kalyce’s mom wanted to incorporate Dr. Seuss’s “Oh, The Places You’ll Go!”, so lots of color and fun loomed through our minds. Last Saturday, Kalyce’s classmates and friends joined her for a fun afternoon in celebration of her graduation. In addition to the colorful candy table we created, other fun activities included face painting, cupcake decorating, bubbles and more. The kids had a blast, and the special grad was all smiles! Check out the invitation we created (with personal info removed) and some photos of the candy table:
