Yesterday, I shared 1 practical practice for charting your successes daily and over time. In addition to noting your wins, it's also important to write down the lessons you learn in both life and business. All too often people get so caught in the pretty and the appearance of having it all together, that we forget life is about both winning and LEARNING! Some lessons are tougher than others, but all lessons are needed for your journey and growth.
The past 3 years of blogging and building the online presence of Sensational Soirees has been so awesome, and a learning experience. Today, I want to share 3 valuable lessons from the past 3 years:
- Be Authentic - Because of how social the world has become, it seems like for some authenticity gets lost. Many want to project a certain image of themselves and chase after the new "in" thing to do. While it is important to showcase your best work and stay current with the times, it is also important first and foremost to be YOU and do YOU! When I first started blogging I felt so alone and wanted the blog to blow up right away. Slowly I started the comparison game and doubted my potential because of what appeared as others faster success. But I was reminded of the scripture, "do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin" Zechariah 4:10. This was so important in staying true to me and my brand. So everything that you see here on this blog and here on our website is a reflection of who I am as woman and boss lady, and what Sensational Soirees stands for and has to offer. I encourage you to always be authentic, knowing that what is for you will be for you, at the right time.
- Be Open to Change - Once you have your authenticity and your lane on lock, be open to switching lanes when needed. I love the quote "great things never came from comfort zones", and it is SO true. Once you've mastered something or perhaps see that something isn't working, be open to something new. This was especially important for me, and I believe for any blogger. As I grew in business and as my life changed, I had more to offer to my audience, which is why I now share business tips and more here. While the site and blog will always be centered around the core of Sensational Soirees work in wedding and events, it's important for me to use this platform to share more of me and inspire like minded moms, boss ladies and more.
- Be Committed - Stay the course! Don't give up! Sometimes quitting seems easy, but don't let those thoughts win. Let your passion, your creativity and your destiny win. Any business owner will tell you, they quit in their minds like 100 times, but don't. I love Sensational Soirees, writing on the blog and connecting with the creative and mom community. I'm so glad I didn't give up, and remained committed not only to my business but to my dreams. My kids are watching, and I always want to set the example for them to go after what sets their soul on fire. Staying committed is important for you, and whoever on your journey that you are supposed to reach.
I hope these 3 lessons can be applied in your life and/or business! Share 1 mantra you live or work by in the comments section.
